The Basalt SS (soft shackle) is made with the same Technora as mentioned above, but features a double locking soft shackle. This allows you to leave those noisy carabiners at home and tie in directly to your harness/saddle.
 
NOTE This hitch is a 12 stand hollow braid rope, that features a brummel locked spliced. It is common for the buried portion to poke out the side where the tapper ends.
 
1/8 Technora has an ABS of 2,900 pounds.
3/16 Technora has an ABS of 5,700 pounds.
